Residents were kept awake all night and into the morning by Hurricane Milton. The storm brought “the strongest winds and rain gusts I’ve ever seen,” according to one local.

Hurricane Milton has been among the strongest hurricanes that Brian Martin, a 22-year-old Seminole County native from Casselberry, has ever encountered.

He went on, “There’s a risk of trees falling in my neighbourhood because of the change in wind direction. There have been other power transformer explosions that I have heard about and witnessed, and many people in my area are still without power, possibly for several days.” This message was shared by him on X, formerly Twitter.

“Luckily, I haven’t lost power yet, and I’ve been able to monitor the unpredictable nature of the storm,” Martin said. Shortly after delivering the message, his power began to flicker, giving him cause for concern that they “could lose power any moment”. Martin claimed that they were unable to sleep the previous night because they needed to monitor friends and relatives spread out over the state and remain informed about the storm’s progress.
