Bills vs. Jets score: Taron Johnson outs Aaron Rodgers to cover penalty win
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – For the second year in a row, the Buffalo Bills will be at MetLife Stadium for a Monday night test matchup against the New York Jets.
The Jets and Bills faced each other in Week 1 of the previous season. Although Aaron Rodgers, the team’s star quarterback and first-year player after 18 years in Green Bay, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury on the game’s fourth play, New York managed to win 22–16 in overtime thanks to a walk-off punt return touchdown by Xavier Gipson.
This time, there’s even more drama surrounding the Jets because owner Woody Johnson fired head coach Robert Saleh last week. Defense coordinator Jeff Ulbrich will now lead the team, and Todd Downing, the quarterback coach and coordinator of the passing game, will call plays offensively instead of former Bills offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
