Canada Temple Attack: Outrage is being seen after the news of an attack on a temple in Brampton, Canada. PM Justin Trudeau, calling the violence unacceptable, said that people of all religions in Canada have the freedom to follow their faith. Opposition leader in Parliament and Indian-origin Chandra Arya also strongly condemned the incident.

Alleged Khalistani supporters attacked devotees at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada. At the time the incident was carried out, women and children were also present in the premises. According to reports, women and children present in the temple have also been attacked. This incident may further increase tension in India-Canada relations. After the situation became tense, the local police deployed security forces to control the situation. The police have assured that adequate security arrangements have been made to prevent any kind of violence.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the Canada Temple Attack

After this incident, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned this violence. He called the violent incident unacceptable and said that all Canadian citizens have the right to practice their faith safely. Apart from the Prime Minister, opposition leader Pierre Poilievre, MP Kevin Wong and Chandra Arya in the Canadian Parliament also condemned the incident. He described this incident as unacceptable and dangerous extremism.

Attack by Khalistani extremists an act of ‘crossing the red line

MP Chandra Arya described the attack by Khalistani extremists at Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton as an act of ‘crossing the red line’. Condemning the attack on the Hindu community, he said that Khalistani extremism has taken a violent form in Canada. Such elements are getting ‘liberation’ in the name of freedom. Arya also appealed to the Hindu-Canadian community to raise their voice for their safety and hold leaders accountable for such incidents.

Women and children were also attacked

Strongly condemning the attack by Khalistani extremists on the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Leader of Opposition in the Canadian Parliament Pierre Poilievre called the incident (Canada Temple Attack) ‘completely unacceptable’. He said that the right to practice their religion peacefully is important for all Canadian citizens. Toronto MP Kevin Wong also condemned the incident. He linked the Brampton incident to the alleged ‘safe haven’ being provided to extremists in Canada. The Hindu Canadian Foundation shared the video of the attack and said that children and women present in the temple were also attacked.
