Tata Nexon EV To Get A Big Safety Boost With ADAS Soon

Electric cars have become the biggest buzzword of today, and when it comes to India’s top-selling EV, the name of the Tata Nexon EV comes first. This car is not only liked for its stylish looks and premium features, but has also won the trust of people due to its solid safety record. According to reports, Tata Motors will make this best-selling electric SUV even more advanced and safe. Tata Nexon EV Empowered+ A variant will come in the market soon, which will come with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

Tata Nexon EV – From Stylish SUV to Futuristic EV

Tata Motors launched Nexon in 2017, and since then this SUV has established a strong position in the Indian market. Initially it came as an ICE (internal combustion engine) variant, but now its electric avatar – Tata Nexon EV – is winning everyone’s heart. With futuristic design, premium features and advanced technology, this car is becoming more powerful with every new update.

Now another exciting update is about to come, in which Nexon EV will get Level 2 ADAS safety suite. This update is expected around the festive season, where Tata aims to attract buyers and maintain its edge against competition such as the MG ZS EV Essence Pro.

New Empowered+ A Variant – Premium Safety with ADAS

Tata Motors is planning to introduce a range-topping Empowered+ A variant. Here A stands for ADAS. This variant will be available only in the 45 kWh battery pack version, which offers a range of 489 km as per the company’s claims. In the real-world, this battery gives a range of 350-375 km, which is quite impressive in its category.

The new variant will have ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, rear cross traffic alert and driver drowsiness detection. These features will make driving on the highway easier and give a new level to safety.

Tata Nexon EV – Already Loaded With Premium Features

The Tata Nexon EV Empowered+ variant is already a feature-rich package. Features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated leatherette seats, JBL sound system with subwoofer, 360-degree camera, digital instrument cluster and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay make it standout in its price bracket. Now with ADAS, this variant will become even more attractive.

Special editions like Dark Edition and Red Dark Edition will also come with ADAS suite, where their styling and premium feel will be maintained with blacked-out accents and red highlights.

Tata Nexon EV Price Update – Value For Money

Current Tata Nexon EV price starts at Rs 12.49 lakh and goes upto Rs 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). But buyers will have to pay a little extra for the ADAS version. According to reports, the new Empowered+ A variant will cost around Rs 75,000 more than the Empowered+ 45 kWh variant.

With its latest pricing move, Tata Motors is once again showing why it understands the Indian market so well. The idea is simple—give customers top-notch safety and technology without making the SUV as expensive as its rivals. Take the MG ZS EV Essence Pro, for example; At Rs 18.39 lakh, it sits at a much higher price point. Tata, on the other hand, has always been known for playing smart with aggressive pricing, and the Nexon EV continues that tradition.

Tata Nexon EV Performance & Battery

In terms of performance, also Tata Nexon EV Empowered+ A 45 does not disappoint buyers. Under the hood, the SUV gets a reliable 106 kW (143 PS) motor and 215 Nm torque which makes it a strong performer. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.9 seconds proves its electric punch. Talking about charging, with the fast charging option, you can fill the battery from 20% to 80% in almost 20 minutes, which is quite convenient for daily use.

Another big plus point of this SUV is Tata’s confidence in its product. The company gives a lifetime warranty for its high-voltage battery. This is not just a warranty, but an assurance that Tata has full confidence in its EV technology.

Tata Nexon EV Safety Record

When it comes to safety, the name of Tata Nexon EV always comes on top. This SUV has already received a 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash test, which is a rare achievement in its segment. This means that it is not only a stylish electric SUV, but also a strong and reliable family car. Now when Level 2 ADAS features are going to be added to it—such as forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking—then its safety package will become even more solid. For those who want to buy a modern EV in which safety is not compromised along with design and features, Nexon EV becomes a complete package.

Bigger Sales Push Expected

Tata Motors is currently the largest EV manufacturer in India. In August 2025 alone, the company has confirmed its 40.98% market share by selling 7,088 EVs. Now after the launch of the ADAS-equipped Nexon EV, sales are expected to increase further. This combo of safety, performance and value-for-money pricing will help Tata set a new benchmark in the under Rs 20 lakh EV SUV segment.
