VinFast India: Beginning of a new world, fast steps in the EV market
Nowadays, when the world is moving towards electric mobility, everyone is asking the same question: who will be the next big player? During this time, there is one name that has emerged very fast, and that is VinFast India. This Vietnamese EV brand is not just limited to Vietnam, but is now making a splash in the whole of Asia through its strong expansion.
The steps taken by VinFast in the Philippines in recent months have shaken the market. But the real story is that VinFast is now turning its attention towards India as well. VinFast India’s entry marks a market where EV demand is growing rapidly, and where Chinese EV brands have dominated so far.
VinFast’s Bold Expansion – From Vietnam to Southeast Asia and Now Towards India
VinFast’s journey in the Philippines has reached a milestone. In May 2024, they tied up with 4 major dealerships: EV Solutions, K1 Prestige Bay Motors Inc, Autoflare Corporation and MNV Auto Group Inc. This move was just the beginning, as they aggressively expanded their retail network after this. And all this happened within a year.
According to the Q2 2025 report, VinFast captured almost 25% of the electric vehicle battery market in the Philippines within just six months. This data is confirmed by the Philippine Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers, Truck Manufacturers Association and VinFast’s own internal sources.
Such solid numbers make it clear that if VinFast can make such a big impact in the Philippines, VinFast India is also ready to accelerate the EV revolution. In a large market like India, where people want a cheap, reliable and eco-friendly car, VinFast’s entry can be a game changer.
Showrooms, Partnerships and Media Buzz

The strategy that VinFast has followed in its Philippines journey can now become the blueprint for its India strategy as well. In July 2024, VinFast opened three big showrooms – VinFast Aseana, VinFast EDSA and VinFast Alabang. This sent a clear message: the brand does not just enter, but builds a solid presence in the market.
During the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) in April 2025, VinFast announced partnerships with 6 new partners – Autoflare, Xentro Motors, Kar Asia, Semicon Motors, EV Tech and Toncars. Autoflare announced plans to open 20 showrooms, and Xentro Motors targets to establish 3S dealerships along with 32 showrooms.
Now if you look at this from an Indian perspective, it is clear that VinFast India will similarly create a fast-growing network through its partners and dealers. If VinFast launches its showrooms in major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, it will break the monopoly of Chinese EV brands.
Local media in the Philippines also celebrated this success. The Philippine Daily Inquirer ran the headline: “VinFast and Furious”. And Daily Tribune wrote: “The demand for electric mobility is still there in Vietnam,” which is Vietnam’s freshness is now included in electric mobility. The same thing can be said by the Indian media and auto industry experts too when VinFast India is officially launched.
Breaking Chinese Monopoly and Building Indian Trust
The biggest thing is that VinFast has done such a thing in the Philippines that no one had even thought of – broke the Chinese EV monopoly. The Philippines market was previously filled with Chinese EV brands, but after the entry of VinFast the picture changed.
Similarly, there are still several Chinese EV brands active in India, but people always hesitate due to quality and trust. If VinFast enters India with its Vietnamese craftsmanship and global standards, Indian customers will get a strong alternative. This will also be a hope for those who want affordable and reliable EVs but prefer to stay away from the Chinese monopoly.
In June 2025, VinFast Philippines officially became a part of CAMPI (Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines). This was a major achievement that shows their long-term commitment. In this way, if VinFast India becomes a part of SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), then their brand trust will become even stronger.
VinFast India: Future of EVs in the Country

Today the Indian government is also promoting EV adoption through subsidies and charging infrastructure. If at this time VinFast India strengthens its base, then the growth opportunities for them will be unlimited. Indian consumers will get a new, eco-friendly and premium yet affordable option.
This is not just the story of a car brand; this is the beginning of a new journey. The headline “too fast, too strong” that was made in the Philippines, the same can happen for India tomorrow. And that day we will say – yes, VinFast India has really changed the game.
