Kirby and the Forgotten Land: A Fresh Journey on Nintendo Switch 2 with Star-Crossed World

Sometimes in the gaming world, there are moments that become a celebration for fans. Nintendo’s new Dhamaka is also something like this. With the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, players are going to get an exciting experience of a new expansion – Star-Crossed World. This release is coming on 28th August 2025 and has already created a lot of buzz among fans.

Nintendo has gone full-throttle in promotion this time. We have seen how they launched Kirby Switch Online icons, Tetris 99 content and My Nintendo sweepstakes. Now one more interesting name is going to be added to this list – Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo. Yes, Alarmo is getting free Kirby and the Forgotten Land content, which will include 7 new tunes, some inspired by the Star-Crossed World expansion.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Expansion on Alarmo

Nintendo has not revealed the exact release date yet, but it is confirmed that new Kirby tracks are coming to Alarmo soon. Last time Alarmo got a new theme quite some time ago, and now fans are excited to wait for this update. The new update isn’t just limited to alarms and music tracks, it will bring nostalgia and excitement for Nintendo fans.

For now, the alarms include content from some iconic Nintendo games, including popular titles already available like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, Ring Fit Adventure, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Bros. and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Star-Crossed World Review – Kirby’s New Adventure

Nintendo’s “game + add-on” rereleases are always unpredictable. Sometimes they feel like full-fledged new games, like Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, and sometimes they are a little confusing add-ons, like Super Mario Party: Jamboree TV. But this time the Star-Crossed World expansion for Kirby and the Forgotten Land comes in the form of a simple and fun DLC.

It’s a modest-sized expansion with new levels and missions that bring players back to the warp star. In a way, it’s a “good excuse” to enjoy gaming again with your favorite pink hero.

Price and Access to Star-Crossed World

Now let’s talk about practical things. If you have the Switch 1 version, you can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition for $20. If you’re buying a fresh Switch 2, it’ll cost $80. And yes, if you just want the base version of Switch 1, it’s available for $60, but it doesn’t include the Star-Crossed World content.

The performance improvements are minor, so this bundle is only valuable for expansion.

Why Kirby and the Forgotten Land Still Shines

My original review still stands up as it did before. Kirby and the Forgotten Land offered a refreshing experience with its 3D perspective. Bringing ability-based combat, platforming, and secret hunting into 3D was a risky move, but Nintendo executed it flawlessly.

Its post-apocalyptic world may not be as charming as Planet Popstar, but it’s still memorable for its vibrant and cleverly designed levels. If you haven’t played this game yet, believe me, you’re missing out on a magical journey.

Star-Crossed World Storyline and Gameplay

The expansion’s storyline is simple but entertaining in a Kirby way. As you complete the first world, a mysterious meteor crashes into the ocean and chunks of blue crystal are scattered across the map. You have to collect “Starries” so that an evil being can be sealed back.

In gameplay terms this means that now two new “Starry Stages” are unlocked in each world of the base game – a total of 12 new stages. These new levels are inspired by familiar locations but have crystal flowers, new enemies and fresh background music added to them. Some places like mall level and amusement park are revisited, but they do not feel like cheap rehash but feel like nostalgic references.

Why Fans Should Be Excited

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a safe bet for Nintendo as this game has already won the hearts of fans. Now with this new expansion, there’s a combo of nostalgia and fresh content. Whether you’re a casual gamer or a die-hard fan of the Kirby franchise, Star-Crossed World will give you a new reason to start your journey again with this pink puffball.

Conclusion

This step by Nintendo clearly shows that they want to leave no stone unturned to entertain their fanbase. With Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s Star-Crossed World DLC, players will get new levels, new tunes and a short but engaging story that will pull them back into the game’s universe. From Alarm update to Switch 2 Edition release, it’s a festival for Kirby lovers.
